Silk Trapeze Dress

We're getting back into the swing of everyday life after coming back from our California vacation a few days ago. We had such a wonderful time enjoying some time in the sand and sun with family. The first two days of our trip were spent at Disneyland and California Adventure, which were jam-packed and exhausting, but of course so much fun! On Saturday, Freddy and I went to a NEEDTOBREATHE (my all-time favorite band) concert at the Greek Theatre, where he surprised me with meet and greet tickets as an early birthday present! I definitely didn't see that coming, and made the night even that much more amazing!

The next few days of our vacation were spent in Manhattan Beach, which is one of my favorite beach towns in L.A. It feels like it's own little bubble that's still in the vicinity of the big city, yet is far-removed from all the hustle and bustle. I loved hanging out in Manhattan Beach in my college days, as a little escape from all the chaos around me. We stayed in a hotel about 5 minutes from the beach, which ended up being perfect since we could Uber to the beach and shops nearby.

We stumbled upon this really neat outdoor shopping center down the street from where we were staying called The Point. They had a lot of cute clothing boutiques and eclectic restaurants, plus ample seating areas and a grassy lawn where you could just relax with friends or read a good book. I walked into a clothing store called Lou & Grey, and immediately loved the store's airy atmosphere and comfy-chic apparel options.

I instantly gravitated towards this flowy trapeze, silk dress because of it's neutral color palette and easy silhouette. I love the pops of pastel colors, and the fabric is oh-so soft! Since I just brought flip flops with me for the beach, this was perfect for walking around town, but I could just as easily see it dressed up with some heels and pearls for a nice dinner out.

It was so lovely being close to the beach for the last few days of our trip. Hearing the rolling waves of the ocean was so relaxing and the perfect way to have some down-time after our busy start to the vacation. I also really like "house hunting" when we're on vacation in a cute town/city. It's fun to dream and get inspired for what I want our future house to look like. There's definitely no shortage of beautiful homes in Manhattan Beach, so as we strolled along the streets there were always at least one or two on each block that I loved!

Although it's always sad when a vacation comes to an end, it's nice to get settled in back at home to get things in order. Of course, when one comes to an end, that means it's time to start planning another one! We aren't sure where we will go next, but there are so many places on our bucket list that we would love to visit!

Do you have any recommendations on where we should go next? Could be in the states, or international! Let us know in the comments below! Thanks for stopping by the blog today. Happy Friday and have a wonderful weekend!
