Be My Valentine

Growing up, I couldn't wait for Valentine's Day to come around. I loved seeing pink and red decorations fill the stores, and I always looked forward to picking out which Valentine's cards I would give to my friends. My mom helped make this holiday so special, which is why I have such fond memories of it. Every year, she would usually let me pick out Valentine-themed clothing, whether it was pajamas or a t-shirt, and she always had a giant Hershey's kiss and a cute card waiting for me in the morning before I went off to school.

One of my favorite activities surrounding Valentine's Day as a kid, was transforming an old shoe box into my valentine mailbox! I loved the idea of making my own crafty box that would soon hold so many fun notes and candies the next day. I always had so much fun designing it and bringing it to school with me, while my friends and I would compare our boxes. So, I decided, why not relive those joyous childhood memories?! For today's blog post, I made a new valentine mailbox with some Disney flare!

I couldn't help but snack on some Hershey's kisses while I was crafting away, because, let's be real, I'm addicted to chocolate :) When I saw the colorful wrappers scattered on the table, I decided to incorporate them and make paper hearts!

I found these adorable stickers at the grocery store back in December, and although I had no idea what I was going to do with them at the time, I just had to have them! Turns out they were perfect for this project.

In my opinion, you can never have too much glitter! I used this fun ribbon to add some sparkle on the lid of the mailbox.

As I was putting away Christmas decorations last month, I stumbled across this super cute heart pattern tissue paper (so random!), but I'm so glad I found it!

I hope that one day I can pass on the traditions my mom created for me to my own children. For a holiday that I normally wouldn't have paid much attention to as a little girl, she made it so fun and full of love, and I am so grateful for that.

What are some of your favorite Valentine's Day memories? I'd love to hear in the comments! Have a great weekend!

Blushfully,

Belle
