A Festive Holiday Sequin Skirt
Hello December! 🎄 I’m so happy that the most wonderful time of the year is here! I’m officially in the holiday spirit and it’s time to make the whole place shimmer ✨ I wanted to kick off the last month of the year with this sparkly outfit that’s begging for a night out on the town. I usually don’t have big holiday plans like Christmas parties that require a festive outfit, but it just so happens that tonight I’m seeing a local production of “A Christmas Carol” with a friend and her family! It’s not a super fancy event but this feels like my one chance to wear it this holiday season so I’m going for it even if I’m a little overdressed 😍
Because my December calendar is rarely (read: never) jam packed with events I usually don’t feel the need to go crazy and get a bunch of holiday outfits that I won’t wear, but sometimes I’ll find an item that grabs my attention and that’s exactly what happened with this sequin skirt! The last sequin skirt I owned was from J. Crew and I bought it in 2010 when I worked there 😂 I remember buying it on clearance and got an extra 60% off or something crazy like that and I was SO excited about it! It was a mini and had an elastic waistband with pockets…oh yeah I still have it lol I can’t bring myself to get rid of it! It just brings me so much nostalgia and I keep thinking that if I have a little girl one day maybe she’ll want to play dress up in it ✨So say hello to my updated, chic midi sequin skirt - I’m obsessed! I wanted to pair it with an oversized sweater to dress it down slightly but still wear a pair of sleek heels for an elegant look. What do you think?!
