A Ruffle Crop Top That Screams Summer

Happy Wednesday friends! Wednesdays don’t normally excite me, but today is technically my Friday because I have a 4-day weekend! 🎉 I’m so excited to have a couple of days to relax and unplug. I was originally hoping to visit one of my good friends in Irvine, but with the money that we spent on our Chicago trip last month and the money we’ve already spent to prep for Disneyland next month, we just felt it would be best to save our money and minimize our expenses this month. I don’t have any concrete plans other than seeing Jungle Cruise with my mom tomorrow which I’m really looking forward to! 🐘🐆 I’m also probably going to lay by the pool for a bit and start my new book, Crazy Rich Asians! Shoot, maybe I’ll even play some Sims since it’s legit been like 3 months since I’ve played 😢 I gotta check in on my family to see how they’re doing 😉

It was just a couple of weeks ago that Freddy and I took a few days off hang out in Chicago, but the trip honestly flew by so fast that I came back feeling like I needed more time off from work. I barely took any time off last year due to the pandemic, and I feel like the fatigue and burnout is finally catching up to me. I’m so used to pushing through when I feel worn out and letting the feelings of guilt for “leaving my team” overpower my desire to step away and recharge. I’ve taken on additional responsibilities at work in the last 6 months and I’ve really learned the importance of taking time away when I need it. Work will always be waiting for me when I come back, and I know that if I don’t take care of myself then I can’t be the best version of myself for my team! So here’s my little PSA to take time for yourself to reconnect, recharge, and rest - it’s so important and you deserve it!

Now that we’re almost halfway through August, my mind is already gearing up for fall but my heart isn’t quite ready to let summer go! Despite how hot the summers are here, I truly do love these long summer days and all of the nostalgia that this season brings. It’s still going to be a couple more months before the weather even remotely starts to cool down for us, but after seeing all of the gorgeous fall merchandise that’s starting to hit stores I’m starting to get ready for the rich fall hues and cozy layers. I want to end summer on a fun note though, and this ruffled crop top literally screams summer! ☀️🤍 I found at the most adorable boutique in Chicago and I’m so glad I brought it home with me. I’ve worn it with shorts and jeans, and I really want to find a cute skirt to pair it with too! And I may not have made it to the beach this summer, but I definitely plan to keep this as a summer staple for many years to come.
