My Favorite Shows From London Fashion Week

Hi friends! I’m so excited to bring you another post in my “Fashion Month” series, this one dedicated to London Fashion Week! It just wrapped up a couple of days ago and I must confess that there were a lot of new-to-me designers who debuted their Fall 2022 collections. I suppose I’m not as familiar with London-based fashion designers, but I discovered a couple of new ones whose collections I really loved! Let’s dive into my favorites and see which trends take center stage for fall.

Huishan Zhang

This is one of the new-to-me designers whose collection I fell head-over-heels for! Zhang is a Chinese-born London designer who worked for Christian Dior before launching his own label in 2011 - so cool! What drew me to this collection was the use of bold patterns and colors. There were so many unique shades of pink in a variety of the dresses, from fuchsia to watermelon, as well as some beautiful color blocking moments. Similar to some of the shows I saw during NYFW, ruffles and fringe with feather detailing were a common theme with this designer as well! And in case you were wondering, suiting continues to reign supreme as we head into the fall season. I’m so glad I discovered Huishan Zhang during LFW and I’m excited to see more of their collections in the future!

Simone Rocha

This is a designer whose name I’ve heard before, but I truthfully didn’t know much about until I watched her show. Rocha is an Irish-born fashion designer who launched her debut collection at London Fashion Week in 2010! I hadn’t paid close attention to her previous collections, but I was really intrigued by this one! First, let’s address alllll the ruffles 😅 It seems to be the common thread between every single piece that went down the runway. The first thought that came to mind when I saw the collection was “modern Marie Antoinette” vibes. It also felt very “Kiera Knightly in Pirates of the Caribbean”, which I LOVE. The collection felt very dramatic with the voluminous layers and the black and white color palette - another spring trend continuing into the fall season. I also really enjoyed the mix of fabrications and textures throughout some of her designs. I saw a gorgeous jacket made out of a quilt-like material juxtaposed against a delicate lace and tulle skirt, as well as a shiny, leather Moto jacket paired back to a ruffled, tulle skirt. While I can’t quite grasp the practicality and wearability of these pieces, they are beautiful works of art nonetheless!

Eudon Choi

My final favorite collection came from another new-to-me designer, Eudon Choi. This collection exuded ultimate lady-like chic with a modern twist; since I’m still watching Gossip Girl reruns, I feel like Blair Waldorf would have been all over it! Practically every color of the rainbow was represented in the designs: reds, oranges, greens, and blues. Normally, you might think all of those colors together wouldn’t work, but they surprisingly all complimented one another so well. During NYFW I saw quite a few designers showcase pieces with statement sleeves, and one of my favorite looks from Eden Choi did as well 😍 (the gold satin dress with ruched sleeves) - so stunning! I also loved seeing so many coats come down the runway in beautiful red and orange tones; It’s not even March and these coats have me wishing November would get here ASAP. This designer is one I will certainly look out for in upcoming Fashion Weeks!

Milan Fashion Week is currently underway and I’m already loving what I’m seeing 🤩 I get so excited seeing the new collections debut and fan-girling over all of the clothing. What I’m most excited for though, is the crown jewel of them all: Paris Fashion Week! Can’t wait to share more with you in the coming weeks - stay tuned! xo
