How To Style Leather In The Summer
The NSale is finally here and there’s a reason it’s one of the most anticipated shopping events of the year! You can score amazing deals on brand new fall product (which will give you a jumpstart on your seasonal wardrobe), home items, and value beauty sets that rarely ever go on sale. Santa came early because it’s basically Christmas in July! If you’ve been following along over on my Instagram and LTK then you’ve already seen some of my favorite items in a variety of categories, but today I’m focusing on a styling tip to help you get the most longevity and wear out of your NSale fall purchases. As a seasoned Nordy girl I’ve shopped (and worked) my fair share of Anniversary Sales in past years so I’ve got a keen eye to scope out pieces that will become staples in your wardrobe.
A common misconception about the NSale is that it’s strictly fall-focused items. While that is a big component of the event (yes, it’s worth it to buy sweaters + coats in the middle of summer while they’re marked down), there are tons of items that you can buy now and wear now! This outfit was inspired by that philosophy and I wanted to show you how you can take a “fall-ready” item and style it for summertime. I took this vegan leather skort that I previously have only worn in the fall with sheer tights and shearling boots (shown here) and decided to turn it into more of a sporty chic look with this halter bodysuit and high-top Converse sneakers. The white contrasted with the camel leather brightens it up a bit (as opposed to black or a more muted color) and the sneakers offer a playful, casual look. This skort takes on a totally different vibe styled this way compared to how I’ve worn it in the fall, which just goes to show you can get new life out of your leather pieces during the summer months, too!
Here are a few of my favorite fall-ready pieces that you don’t need to wait until September to wear. You can style these blazers & jackets with a pair of distressed denim shorts and sneakers, or an oversized cardigan with a midi-dress and sandals.
