This time of year is my absolute favorite, and I love all of the traditions and festivities that come along with it! Every year Freddy and I pick out a real Christmas tree the weekend of Thanksgiving, which I’ll admit I was against when we spent our first married Christmas together. You see, I had always grown up with a fake tree, and the thought of getting a real one seemed archaic! Especially since we live in the desert where Christmas trees aren’t native and dry out super fast, but he convinced me nonetheless and now I couldn’t imagine it any other way. We also love drinking hot cocoa with marshmallows almost every other night during December and watching all the Christmas movies. Freddy’s birthday happens to be on Christmas Eve, and his mom made him carnitas for dinner every year growing up, and now I have happily carried on that tradition!

There’s always so many fun events to look forward to around this time of year, from holiday dinners to New Year’s Eve parties, the fun doesn’t stop even after all the Christmas gifts have been opened! This was the first year that I had an official company holiday party, so I was on the hunt for a dress that was festive and fun for Christmastime, but one that I could also wear into the new year. I was thrilled to find this lace, Ted Baker cocktail dress (currently on sale!) that incorporated my favorite colors.

The burgundy, green and blush hues work so well together, and I love the fitted silhouette with the slightest flared skirt. Of course, any dress that has pockets automatically gets extra points in my book! Even if I don’t use them, knowing that they’re there makes me happy. It’s all about the little design details! Not only is this a fabulous holiday dress for any occasion, maybe you’re going to the Nutcracker or attending Christmas Eve service at church, but it’s also a great wedding guest dress for winter weddings in January or February. No matter what plans you’ve got for the rest of 2019, I’ve put together a complete holiday dress guide (I included jumpsuits too!) to help you find the perfect outfit! I incorporated some pieces based on a poll I did last month on my Instagram stories, such as sequin numbers and short dresses with sleeves. I hope you enjoy! xo
