A Neutral Desert Outfit

As I’ve gotten older I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of the desert more and more. When I was in high school, I was jealous of friends and family that lived in California near the ocean and got to enjoy cooler weather and the greenery around them. While I still am jealous of the fact that I don’t have an ocean in my backyard, I really do find the desert to be so beautiful and I love seeing all the mountains around me, no matter where I turn. That was one of the things I missed the most when we lived in Austin: not having any mountains in my line of sight. The desert wouldn’t be the same without them and I’ve come to find their majestic grandeur very comforting.

Another quality I admire about the desert is even amongst change in weather (like the random and wonderful snow we experienced last week!), it’s still constant and steadfast. The cacti, mountains, and never-ending sea of brown dirt will always be there. Like a friend you know you can always count on. I’ve lived in the desert for 25 years of my life and it will always be home to me 🏜 This outfit was inspired by my love for the desert neutrals that surround me every day. I guess it’s no wonder that I’m always and forever a neutrals girl at heart! Yes, I do love playing with color and wearing new hues every now and then, but at my core, I’m happiest and most comfortable in a neutral palette. Do you prefer neutrals 🤍 or the colors of the 🌈?
