Bundled Up In The Desert

It’s hard to believe we’re basically halfway through January already. I keep thinking it’s January 4th for some reason and before I know it spring will be here! Speaking of spring, the weather here in the desert is warming up this week to the mid 70s and I’m already having visions of laying by the pool and soaking up the summer sun ☀️😎 I’ve even caught myself looking at new bikinis online because I’m already so excited for the spring season to begin! Our winter was very short-lived and I can only remember a handful of days where I was legit freezing. I’m not sure if this the weather will cool down again or if we’re already jumping into warmer weather from here on out, but consider this post my farewell to our desert winter which maybe lasted 1 month in total!

This is basically my version of being “bundled up” in Phoenix 😂🌵 As you may know, it typically doesn’t get colder than the 60s during the day and at night it can get into the 30s, but I’m always inside where it’s warm and don’t have to worry about that lol. This puffer vest has been one of my go-to winter layering essentials for over 10 years! I still remember when my Dad bought it for me on a Black Friday shopping trip in San Diego when I was in my first year of college. It was so fun getting up at the crack of dawn with him (which was something I never did) and driving to the mall to see what deals we could find. My Dad also wasn’t much of a shopper, so this was a rare opportunity where he actually wanted to take me shopping—I definitely didn’t pass that up! Every time I wear this vest I think of him and that fun memory we had together ☺️

I’ve also been wearing this beanie a lot lately and I think it’s so cute! I love the little pompom on top and the chunky knit texture; I’m definitely taking advantage of wearing it as much as I can before it’s too late.
