How The La Mer Concentrate Saved My Skin

We made it to Monday and I’m going into the new week filled with gratitude, mainly because my skin is healed! If you’ve been following along on my Instagram Stories over the last week, you likely saw me talking about my BIG oopsie where I used my at-home lip waxing kit a few days after I used retinol cream. I knowingly went against the cardinal rule of waxing which is to not do it unless you haven’t used retinol for at least a week! I thought “meh, it’s been 3 days, I should be fine”…that was a big mistake I learned the hard way!

Thankfully, one of my friends who works at Nordstrom hooked me up with some free samples of the La Mer Concentrate which she uses regularly and has saved her skin before from burns and rashes. I’ve always heard amazing things about La Mer but have never tried their products due to the price tag 😳💰 I learned that the secret ingredient in all of La Mer’s products and what makes them so great is fermented sea kelp 🌊 Apparently there are some pretty amazing vitamins and minerals in this fermented sea kelp that gives La Mer their claim to fame and all the rave reviews 🌟 I started using The Concentrate about 18 hours after my waxing snafu and put it on multiple times a day to hopefully speed up the healing process. I was literally amazed with the results I saw even within just one day!

My skin started to scab by day 3 and by day 4 I started to peel (see picture above - kinda gross I know 😆) Now it’s been one full week and my skin is practically back to normal! The mark above my lip is completely gone and there’s a couple of very faint marks on each side of my upper lip, which I think I notice because I know they’re there but my mom couldn’t even tell 😄 I’m so relieved that my skin didn’t scar like I was originally afraid it would. I’m continuing to use the Concentrate to see if it helps continuing to make the faint red marks go away - I have a feeling it may take time which I’m okay with 😊 As much as I wish this incident didn’t happen at all, I’m really grateful that I was able to take the opportunity to see just how wonderful La Mer’s products are! I don't think I would have otherwise taken the leap to sample their products (thank you Jill for the recommendation!) 💛

One week later!

I also wanted to share that I discovered Costco sells some of La Mer’s products online! The full 1.7 oz size of the Concentrate that normally goes for $530 is priced at $399.99 on Costco’s website 😱🥳🤩 Run don’t walk….it’s a limited time savings event you don’t want to miss! I still haven’t pulled the trigger on purchasing a full-size bottle of the serum, it’s a big investment and I’m still going to savor every bit of the sample while I have it.
