Memory Lane Monday: Easter Eggs

Growing up, I always got so excited for Easter! On Saturday night, my mom and I would decorate eggs together, and I would ooh and ah as they transformed into bold, vibrant colors. We also liked to mix colors together and see the watercolor effect that would take place. The next morning I would wake up to a beautiful Easter basket filled with all kinds of goodies, usually a stuffed animal and See's Candies (the bordeaux is my all-time favorite!). After we got home from church, my dad would hide the eggs in the backyard and I would go on the hunt! He was always so good at hiding them, and I felt that much more proud when I collected them all! But being an only child, I didn't have any siblings to compete with, so my parents would wait until I found them all...which could have taken a long time if my dad didn't point me in the right direction every now and then :)

As you can see, this was the era of matching mother-daughter dresses. I wasn't so convinced of this trend.

Once I found all of the hidden eggs, my parents started on breakfast: eggs benedict (another all-time favorite recipe, and an Easter tradition). I love the memories I have with my parents on Easter, just hanging out and spending a relaxing day together. To relive some of those memories, I decided to decorate some of my own eggs since it will just be Freddy and I this year. And what better way to decorate than to do princess-inspired!?

I had so much fun trying to replicate the colors that represent some of my favorite princesses. Snow White's was the most challenging, since the red ended up looking more orange.

Freddy and I are looking forward to spending Easter together and creating new memories, but perhaps what we are most looking forward to is celebrating our risen Lord!

Stay tuned as I share my Spring inspired table decor later this week. Thanks for stopping by!

Blushfully,

Belle
