Last week it was so cold here in Texas and I didn't know what to do with myself! I'm happy to report that we are back in the mid 70's this week and I'm so glad I can start pulling out some lightweight tops and my open-toe shoes! It's like a little taste of spring in the middle of winter and I'm loving it. This AZ chick can only handle so much of winter at a time, and by "winter" I mean like 60s is too much to handle lol!
Now that I've been able to wear some of my silk and chiffon blouses without heavy jackets over them, I love finding pieces that have sweet and feminine details. I spotted this black, lace blouse at Target from the Who What Wear collection and fell in love! Now time for some real talk...
I've been working in retail for 7 years, and over that period of time my style has evolved...as well as my taste. I like to call it champagne taste on a beer budget! I'm always fascinated and wooed by luxury, designer pieces, and while I do love them, I can't always afford the splurge. So, when I find beautiful pieces with sweet details at affordable prices (example: this top I'm wearing for under $30!) I get really excited about it and also feel very proud of myself for scoring a deal! I decided to go for an all black look, but this blouse would also be great with a mid-wash or dark wash denim, or a pencil skirt for the office, or even date night with a mini skirt. The possibilities are endless!
I finished off the look with a red lip and some Dior-inspired earrings in a white and black crystal finish. Hopefully the weather stays like this a little bit longer--I've been enjoying this spring preview! But you never know with Texas...it can be so unpredictable! xo
